Vibrant Connection ‘How can you use art to make the world a better place?’  We can use art to make the world a better place by using it to show ourselves what we are doing to our world, the good and the bad.   Art can show us the things that we are too blind to see in the real world.  By seeing it with art, we are more impacted.

This is your last year in High School, what activities are your doing? I am playing volleyball, competing in Debate, and most likely getting a job, but hopefully getting a trailer to set up a food truck.

How do to find calm in all the hectic activities you do?   My family and really knowing that they are here for me all the time, no matter what happens.  I know they are all just a call away when I need their support or them to talk my ear off about their life to distract me from my crazy life.

What aspirations are in your horizon?  I would like to pursue Chemical Engineering after my senior year, seeking my place in the world and what I can do to make a positive change in someone’s life.

What really excites you?   The present and the future. There was this really cool quote from Slaughterhouse-Five that says, “Well, here we are, Mr. Pilgrim, trapped in the amber of this moment. There is no why.”  We all try to seek why something happened or why something is going to happen but we are all bugs in the amber, stuck in the moment of right now.  And not to seem hypocritical, but I am also excited for the future, not because I have huge expectations for things to happen, I am excited for life to throw at me what it can and see how I handle it.

When/Where do you feel in a good flow? In your element?  This may be the nerdiest thing, but honestly, when I am being tested for something that I know I am competent at, like math or volleyball, I love to prove to myself and others the potential I have.

Finish the sentence.  “Growing up, I…”   I loved to look at people.  I loved to take care of the things that I could. I didn’t take many risks, but still had fun.  I loved to love others.

If you had special powers, what would they be?   To be a shapeshifter. I would be able to shapeshift into anyone (fictional or nonfictional) and be able to use their powers when I was shaped into them.
